Introducing Kestrix
Kestrix uses drone-based thermal imaging and AI to map and quantify how heat escapes from buildings, assess heat pump and solar readiness, and generate energy retrofit plans for homes at scale. Our data and patent-pending algorithmic analysis helps landlords, local authorities, and energy suppliers understand the optimal upgrade pathway for each home – enabling the effective allocation of scarce time, labour, and financial resources into housing decarbonisation and regeneration.
To date, Kestrix have mapped more than 10,000 homes, serving 25+ enterprise customers across the UK, Germany, and the US. We have raised £3.5M in funding from leading PropTech and Climate VCs (Pi Labs, the Conduit EIS Fund, and Carbon13 among them) as well as government bodies such as InnovateUK and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). We are an agile team of 12, meaning you will have real ownership and impact from day 1.

CTO & Co-founder, hiring manager
The role
We're looking for the first Product Manager at Kestrix, reporting to CTO and co-founder Matt, to take ownership of KestrixSURVEY – our primary product that helps owners of residential housing portfolios (and the contractors that deliver work for them) understand their retrofit potential and verify retrofit outcomes
KestrixSURVEY turns Kestrix's 3D thermal and visual drone survey data into a prioritised retrofit plan. A dashboard UI gives them a view as to which properties to tackle first, why, and how confident we are in that recommendation, and helps them understand the impact retrofit projects have had once completed. It’s already evolved a lot, but still has large opportunities to set its direction and deliver value to our growing customer base. Part of this role is bringing strong customer insight, clear prioritisation and structure that has, until now, been shaped informally between engineering, design, and customer conversations.
You'll work closely with our users at registered housing providers and their contractors, with design to turn what you learn into interaction changes; engineering to build prioritisation workflows that reflect real-world constraints, and sales to make sure what we build is what our customers will pay for.
A successful candidate has a deep curiosity about customer problems; is comfortable with ambiguity; is highly organised; is excited about owning something end to end, and passionate about solving the urgent problem of building decarbonisation in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment.
Job Responsibilities
Run discovery with portfolio and sustainability managers (your ICP), extracting insights that have real influence on roadmap direction.
Partner with design to turn insights into interaction changes.
Build defensible roadmap prioritisation logic by combining customer input with technical and engineering constraints.
Partner with sales to influence product packaging and positioning so that customers understand how what you build benefits them.
Collaborate closely with engineering to build and launch the features that customers need.
Spearhead rapid prototyping of new ideas and concepts to rapidly iterate our product to meet customer needs.
Run onboarding and research calls with customers to observe usage friction firsthand
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Kestrix's business goals, aligning the KestrixSURVEY roadmap to support and drive these objectives forward.
Conduct industry research and stay up to date with developments in retrofit, housing decarbonisation policy, and the wider proptech/energy landscape, leveraging this knowledge to sharpen KestrixSURVEY's roadmap.
Success Criteria
KestrixSURVEY is used more: customers spend more time on our platform.
Kestrix product roadmap is well-informed: the product roadmap ranking logic reflects real-world constraints (sequencing, incentive deadlines, feasibility).
Kestrix continually gains go-to-market clarity: win rate and sales-cycle length improve as packaging and positioning that you help inform sharpen.
Your Qualifications/Experience
Critical requirements
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Product Manager, ideally in a B2B SaaS environment.
A genuine passion for decarbonisation and the built environment.
Experience running customer discovery sessions that surface insights which meaningfully change a roadmap.
Numerate, able to carry out quantitative analysis on user and product data
Technical enough to engage credibly with engineering constraints.
Comfortable synthesising qualitative customer input and technical/engineering constraints into a defensible, prioritised plan.
Experience partnering closely with design and engineering to turn research into shipped product changes.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate between customers, sales, design, and engineering.
A bias for getting close to real usage – comfortable running onboarding or support calls as a research channel
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced startup environment.
Be able to query data using SQL and build dashboards from that data.
Nice to haves
Experience in proptech, energy, sustainability, or the wider built environment sector.
Familiarity with housing providers, local authorities, or utilities as customers.
Experience contributing to go-to-market planning alongside a sales team.
Have rapidly built prototypes with AI
Benefits
25 days paid time off, the week between Christmas Day and New Year (with flexibility to shift for those of non-Christian religious backgrounds), and a day off on your birthday.

Pension contributions (4% of salary).
Flexible working outside core working hours.
Regular team socials & wellness perks.
